Guidelines for Travel Assistance

  1. The proposals for travel assistance should be received at least 3 months before the event. Any application received after the last date will not be considered for any other reason.

  2. For outgoing visits of artists (for performance abroad) or exhibitions (for exhibitions abroad) it should be sent by email to OCD Section at spdocd[dot]iccr[dot]gov[dot]in.
    For outgoing visits of experts/distinguished persons for conferences/seminars/events, etc., it should be sent to spdcs[dot]iccr[dot]gov[dot]in.
    For all other outgoing visitors in the area of culture, it should be sent to spd-dvp[at]iccr[dot]gov[dot]in and copied to po-dvpavp[at]iccr[dot]gov[dot]in.

  3. The request of the participant will be evaluated on the basis of his/her credentials, field of expertise, theme of the project, credentials of the host organization and its willingness to acknowledge/publicize the support of ICCR.
  4. The travel grant is meant to be used for promoting cultural exchanges and mutual understanding with partner countries in cultural sphere and is not granted for attending academic conferences.
  5. In case the applicant is working with the Govt of India, State Govt, PSUs, State Universities, other Govt bodies or organizations, a no objection letter (from the parent ministry/department) for availing ICCR's travel grant will need to be submitted.
  6. Organizations/NGOs supporting the travel grant applications should attach documents related to their registration, GST Number, Balance Sheet, and an undertaking that there are no outstanding settlements with Government Departments/Agencies.
  7. The proposals may come through Indian Embassy/High Commission, ICCR Zonal Office/Sub Zonal Offices or directly by the applicants. Applications recommended by Missions/Zonal Offices may be accorded due priority.
  8. Proposals will be forwarded to the concerned Indian Mission for recommendations specifically on the points mentioned at S.N.12 of the application. Based on importance and host institution credentials, further consideration will be given for approval.
  9. The person who has been granted Travel Assistance by ICCR should ensure that ICCR is duly acknowledged in the publicity material.
  10. Applicant should have a valid passport for at least six months from the date of proposed travel.
  11. If approved, one-time economy class international return airfare (nearest airport in India to nearest airport abroad via direct route) will be provided by ICCR.
  12. All other expenses such as lodging, boarding, passport, visa, local travel etc., will be borne by the visitor or the event organizer. Supporting documents for other expenses must be submitted.
  13. There will be a 3 years cooling off period before another application from the same beneficiary is considered.
  14. The proposals will be processed by the concerned Sections of ICCR depending upon the type of event.
  15. The application may be examined by a Committee constituted for the purpose and subsequently considered by the Competent Authority of ICCR based on the recommendation of the Committee.
  16. The beneficiary must submit a detailed report of the visit within one month along with photographs, expenditure statement, and original boarding passes, failing which future assistance will not be considered.
  17. Provision of Travel Assistance will be at ICCR's sole discretion, keeping in view ICCR’s mandate, nature of the event, applicant's background, and budgetary constraints. DG, ICCR’s decision will be final.
  18. ICCR reserves the right to accept or reject any application without assigning any reason whatsoever.
