IMPORTANT VISITORS PROGRAMME (IVP)
(Guidelines)
Invitee
Any important Visitors like Mayors, Indologists, Presidents of Cultural Institutions, Chairpersons of India Friendship Societies, Judges, Artists, Writers, Authors, Poets, mid-level Bureaucrats/Policy makers/ Senior members of Think Tanks etc. (excluding sitting Ministers/Members of Cabinet).
Duration
7-10 days in India (excluding travel time)
International Airfare
Economy class international return air fare to all IVP visitors whose travel time is upto 8 hours. In case travel time is more than 8 hours, ICCR will provide business class airfare to IVP visitors.
Domestic Airfare
Economy class domestic air fare to all IVP visitors.
Hotel Accommodation with full boarding & lodging
Five Star hotel accommodation with full boarding & lodging in India.
Dinner Reception
No dinner reception will be organized for IVP visitors. However, in exceptional circumstances and on a case-to-case basis, DG can authorize hosting a dinner reception.
Programme
The purpose of the IVP is mostly specific interaction/ cooperation. Before proposing an IVP visit, the Mission should identify a principal nodal Institution in India and obtain their ‘in-principle’ approval to receive the visitor for detailed discussion on specific cooperation/proposal. The visitors would spend considerable time in that institution during their visit. They can also be taken to 1-2 other institutions, for specific discussion on specific cooperation/proposal. This should also be tied up in advance by the Mission. ICCR could add 1-2 elements on India's culture/institution/call on’s separately.
Transportation
One Car
Liaison Officer
No Liaison Officer will be deputed with the IVP Visitors. However, in exceptional cases, LO can be deputed after the approval of the Competent Authority of ICCR.
Feedback Form
Mandatory for Mission to get duly filled up “Feedback Form” from visitor as per enclosure within 10 days after concluding the visit and send it back to ICCR.
