ICCR VISITORS PROGRAMMES


The ICCR administers various programmes under which it hosts eminent personalities from abroad for a certain period. These programmes promote Indiaโ€™s cultural relations with other countries through various instruments that involve people to people contact.
These programmes also includes a variety of sessions such as lectures, round table discussions, call on Ministers, senior government officials, NGOs, intellectuals etc. as well as visits to places of cultural and educational importance.



Incoming Visitors


  • Distinguished Visitors Programme (DVP)

    ICCR administers various programs under which it hosts eminent personalities from abroad for a specified period. These programs promote Indiaโ€™s cultural relations with other countries through various initiatives that encourage people-to-people contact.

    These programs also include a variety of sessions such as lectures, round-table discussions, meetings with Ministers, senior government officials, NGOs, and intellectuals, as well as visits to places of cultural and educational significance.


  • Academic Visitors Programme (AVP)

    Under this programme the Council facilitates visits by eminent academicians, (Vice Chancellors/Professor) to India to experience Indian culture and interact with institutions and audiences in India. Leading representatives of think-tanks and cultural institutions are also invited to share their insight and experiences.

    The programme of the visitors typically includes a variety of sessions such as lectures, meeting with Vice Chancellors of Indian Universities, call on meetings with Senior bureaucrats, NGOโ€™s and intellectuals.


  • Gen-Next Democracy Network Programme

    ICCR organizes the โ€œGen Next Democracy Network Programmeโ€ as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM). Young emerging leaders of 75 democracies and global forum united to visit India to get a comprehensive overview of Indiaโ€™s democractic traditions, its cultural heritage, its developmental initiatives and democratic traditions.

    The delegates are briefed on Indiaโ€™s progress in the political arena, in economic sectors and in science and technological capabilities by different organizations. The programme is divided into various groups with each group consisting of about seven to eight countries with two to five delegates from each country.



  • Orientation Programme for Students of Hindi, Abroad

    Under this program, the Council facilitates visits by Hindi-speaking students from abroad to India, allowing them to experience Indian culture and interact with institutions and audiences across the country.



Outgoing Visitors


  • Travel Assistance

    As part of its mandate to strengthen people-to-people contact between India and other countries, ICCR facilitates visits by performing and visual artists, choreographers, curators, scholars, authors, and academicians to participate or perform in international events, festivals, seminars, conferences, and exhibitions, or to deliver lectures/talks in their respective fields of expertise.

    This facilitation includes providing a round-trip economy class airfare from a city in India to the host city abroad, where the participant has been invited by the host organization, institution, or university

    The request of the participant is evaluated on the basis of guidelines guidelines.
