The Indian Cultural Centre (ICC), Dhaka was inaugurated by Dr. S. Jaishankar, Hon'ble External Affairs Minister of India, on 4th March 2021 — an important milestone symbolising the strengthening of cultural diplomacy between India and Bangladesh. ICCR has been operating in Bangladesh since 2010, previously through the Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre (IGCC) in Dhanmondi. Since September 2024, all operations have shifted to the new ICC on Gulshan Avenue.
Classes & Training
Yoga, Hindi, Indian Classical Music and Kathak dance classes and workshops. Also engages professionals from Bangladesh who have trained under Indian Gurus or at Indian universities.
Cultural Programmes
Art exhibitions, music and dance performances, film screenings and educational programmes showcasing India's rich cultural heritage to engage local communities and promote mutual understanding.
Cultural Diplomacy
Serves as a hub for fostering deeper cultural ties between India and Bangladesh, building on decades of shared history and strengthening people-to-people bonds between the two nations.
