As part of its mandate to strengthen people-to-people contact between India and other countries, ICCR facilitates visits by performing and visual artists, choreographers, curators, scholars, authors, and academicians to participate or perform in international events, festivals, seminars, and conferences, or to deliver lectures/talks in their respective fields of expertise.
This facilitation includes providing a round-trip economy class airfare from a city in India to the host city abroad, where the participant has been invited by the host organization, institution, or university. The participant's request is evaluated based on their credentials, field of expertise, theme of the project, the credibility of the host organization and its willingness to acknowledge and publicize ICCR’s support, recommendations from the concerned Indian Mission/Post, and the availability of funds with ICCR.

Recipients of the travel grant are expected to submit a detailed report to ICCR after completing their visit.
