Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (SVCC) is the Indian Cultural Centre of Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) in Georgetown. It is the oldest among all the cultural centres established by ICCR, founded in 1972 with the aim of strengthening cultural relations and mutual understanding between India and Guyana and their people. The Centre conducts regular Yoga classes.
An Ayush Information Cell was established in the premises of SVCC on the occasion of the 10th International Day of Yoga, 2024 — an initiative of the Ministry of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy) of the Government of India. Set up under the aegis of Indian Embassies/Missions and Cultural Centres, it provides authentic information on AYUSH systems of medicine and supports global promotion through MoUs with foreign Governments, Universities and Institutes, establishment of AYUSH Academic Chairs, and collaborative research.
