The Jawaharlal Nehru Cultural Center (JNCC) was established in 1989 following the phenomenal success of the Festival of India in the USSR (1988). Since then, it has played a pivotal role in promoting Indian culture and strengthening the enduring cultural relationship between India and Russia.
Classes & Training
Regular classes in Classical Dance, Yoga, Hindi and Tabla are
conducted by India-based and Russian teachers. The Centre serves
nearly 800 students every month through more than
140 classes every week.
Academic Collaboration
India-based teachers conduct classes at Russian universities,
schools and institutions while JNCC collaborates closely with
academic organizations across Russia.
Cultural Exchange
JNCC coordinates the implementation of the India-Russia Cultural
Exchange Programme and supports Indian cultural centres in more
than 15 Russian cities.
Cultural Activities
Organises performances, workshops, exhibitions and cultural events
showcasing India's rich traditions while meeting Russia's growing
interest in Indian heritage.
Student Guidance
Provides guidance to students seeking admission to Indian
universities under ICCR Scholarships and
self-financing programmes.
