ICCR,Mumbai is presenting 'Bahurupi', traditional form of Street plays by Rajesh Aundhkar from Amravati on Friday,26th November 2021 under the Kala Vishwa Campaign 2021.

Bahurupi Or Rairand by Rajesh Aundhkar

Bahurupi or Rairand is a tradition of street players. Originally they performed the acts of Ramadan, Mahabharat and other mythological and other mythological characters even from Puranas, After the dharma parivartan from Hindu to Baudha most of the Rairand, Bahurupi artists changed their religion and started performing social street plays.

Rajesh Aundhkar who hails from traditional Bahurupi community from Amravati district do perform various street plays. Rairand artists around Amravati district is a ideal example of Hindu Muslim unity.
