The Conference & Seminar Division of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) organises and supports international conferences, seminars, and academic dialogues that bring together scholars, thinkers, policymakers, and opinion-makers from India and abroad. Aligned with ICCR's mandate to promote India's external cultural relations and foster mutual understanding, it provides platforms for meaningful exchange on themes of global and civilisational relevance. It facilitates the participation of foreign scholars in events hosted in India and supports Indian institutions in organising international seminars, helping position India as a hub for cross-cultural intellectual engagement.

To catalyze rigorous cross-border research and dialogue, the division curates a dynamic annual calendar anchored by recurring flagship forums, such as the International Conferences on Yoga, alongside diverse thematic seminars held in partnership with prominent Indian and foreign institutions. This institutional legacy builds upon the success of major milestone programs conducted by the division, including the Vaishali Festival of Democracy and the Pandit Deendayal Memorial Oration, ensuring sustained intellectual diplomacy and cross-border scholarship year after year.

International Conferences on Yoga

Following the United Nations' 2014 resolution establishing 21 June as the International Day of Yoga, adopted with support from 193 countries, ICCR has played a leading role in promoting Yoga as a key instrument of India's cultural diplomacy. Since 2018, ICCR has organised seven International Conferences on Yoga across continents, in partnership with Indian Missions and yoga institutions, bringing together experts, practitioners, and scholars.

Notable Editions:

• 7th International Conference on Yoga (2025) | Tashkent, Uzbekistan: The first of its kind in Central Asia, titled "Yoga for One Earth One Health," featuring a keynote by Padma Bhushan awardee Sri M and participation from ten countries.
• 6th International Yoga Conference (2024) | Durban, South Africa: The first such conference in Africa, titled "Yoga for the Self and Society."
